Mariah Carey is the self-titled debut album by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey. It was released on June 12, 1990 by Columbia Records and the album spawned four number one singles, "Vision of Love", "Love Takes Time", "Someday", and "I Don't Wanna Cry". A limited single "There Got To Be A Way" was released. To date, it has sold 15 million copies worldwide and has been certified 9X Platinum in the United States and 7X Platinum in Canada.

Packaging[]

First few pressings of the album featured only 10 songs on the tracklist, from "Vision of Love" to "Prisoner", however because the song "Love Takes Time" was recorded at the last minute while the album was already being pressed by CBS (now Sony Music), the song does not appear as the 11th song on the tracklist, but is still on the disc itself. Newer pressings of the album now contain "Love Takes Time" as the 11th track compared to earlier pressings that completely did not.
